You will be trained in ancient and cutting edge historical techniques that scholars use today without being weighed down by jargon. You will discern the importance of historical context and of being sensitive to what the books of the New Testament are doing and not just what they are saying. Like a detective, you will learn to be attuned to what goes unspoken as much as to what is laid out explicitly.
2. You Will Become
Fascinating by Being Fascinated
Your curiosity of the New Testament will finally be harnessed in a productive direction. Questions about the text will become less and less pesky and more and more interesting. By showing you how not to jump to judgement, you will appreciate tricky passages as if they were escape rooms to solve. When this happens, people will take notice.
In this library that we call the New Testament, you will stay in the shadows and eaves drop on conversations. You will learn how to piece together the other half of a correspondence when all you have is one letter. You will detect discord in the early church that rivals any palace intrigue.

I am selling each book at the cost of printing, fulfillment, and shipping, and not a penny more.
Why am I doing this?
Because my parents never taught me the value of a dollar.
But really, there are two reasons I'm doing this.
First, I spent decades curating the most well crafted arguments and the most rigorous methodologies from across the intellectual spectrum. I did this by graduating from faith based and secular institutions, teaching at private and public universities, and writing for academic and popular audiences.
I'm doing this because I want you to gain this knowledge without taking on my amount of school debt.
You don't have to be resigned to know nothing of the Bible or go as far as academically as I have. I'd rather you be equipped to enjoy these ancient texts in a language that you understand rather than suffer in a language that almost no one understands, academic English (which is only second in obscurity to academic German).
I'm doing this because I wish someone had done it for me. I'm doing it because i am a believer in Feynman's razor, "If you can't say it simply then you probably don't understand it."
Therefore, my goal is to get this book into as many hands as possible.
The second reason I'm selling this book at cost is because I want to start a collaborative movement, and I can't do it alone.
I want to build a community on-line in forums and face-to-face at conferences that takes the New Testament seriously rather than blindly accepting it or arrogantly dismissing it. I want to gain your curiosity by being transparent.
One more thought.
I know that the tools and principles you choose to learn in this book will extend beyond your reading of the New Testament. They are transferable skills that will pay dividends in your everyday life!

Meet The Person Reframing How We Read the New Testament...
I am fascinated with classical literature and ancient history. This is especially true for Greek and Roman literature and history.
During my graduate studies, I had a watershed moment when I realized that the New Testament was a part of ancient Greek literature and not separate from it. I was given a brand new perspective.
My fascination drove me to get a Ph.D. in New Testament and Early Christianity. Now, my excitement compels me to share what I've learned with others.
I'm on a mission to share this new perspective to excavate the New Testament not erode it. I'm putting together an everyday biblical scholar symposium of people who think similarly. Join me.
